SCHOOL CLOSURE

We want to thank parents and students for their cooperation in helping shut down the school the remainder of this week.  We had a number of staff and students who were in close contact with positive COVID cases – and some who tested positive.  Our decision to close the school and move online was made to keep everyone safe and hopefully reduce any further transmission.

Well done to all those students (and parents) who have managed to move online so swiftly and efficiently!

Please remember to conduct a Covid Rapid Test on either Sunday evening or early Monday morning.  If this test is NEGATIVE, then students may return to on campus learning on Monday morning (14th February).  Should the test result be positive please keep the student (and any siblings) at home and test again in 7 days – keep testing until they manage two negative tests 24 hours apart.  Please inform the school nurse of any positive test results.  Thank you.

During the closure we have sanitised the whole school using a professional company and our own cleaning staff have performed a “Deep Clean” in most rooms

The current country-wide surge in cases is a good reminder that we still have protocols in place.  Social distancing, frequent hand washing and face masks are still implemented throughout the day.

We ask parents to minimise their visits to the school campus; and when you do visit you should stay on campus for NO MORE THAN 15 MINUTES – please collect your children and leave.  We ask older students not to “hang out” but to leave the campus as soon as they are dismissed!

SCHOOL FEES

For those who pay monthly – please be aware that late fees will now be applied.  Thanks to those who always pay faithfully and allow us to meet our commitments.

LOGOS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL – Accreditation

Dear Logos Parents,

As you know Logos is in the process of renewing accreditation with the Association of Christian Schools International [ACSI] and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges [WASC].

This will be the third accreditation renewal for Logos since beginning almost 20 years ago.

The faculty and staff have been involved to varying degrees in developing the school’s Self-Study over the last 18th months. Yesterday, during the training day, we reviewed the indicators and other information included in the study for one last time – hopefully! There are a couple of edits to make and attachments to add but we are almost there – Praise God!

In previous years we have been able to invite parents to join groups on campus for discussion but recently that has been more difficult. However, we would really like to hear any feedback you may have after reading the Self-Study. This is a pdf version of the Self-Study. The study is very long! It is in English only. You may prefer to look at just one section of the study and share your thoughts about that.

You may email the Director of Education, Pam Sephton, psephton@asianhope.org directly or any member of the Leadership Team: Giulie Welman, Brad Barrett or Andy Gordon. If you prefer you can complete this google form – ‘Logos Self-Study Feedback’. Deadline is 27th February but as soon as possible is best for us. THANK YOU!

Due to COVID-19 restrictions on travel the visiting team for accreditation will visit the school VIRTUALLY. They will interact with us for one week Monday 28th February to 4th March. We will share more information about this soon. We are blessed to have a team of 6 educators working in 6 different countries: USA, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, S. Korea and Indonesia!

Next Year’s Calendar

We know we’re only just over half way through the current school year, but we’re happy to let you know the provisional dates for next year’s school calendar.

MENU FOR THE COMING DAYS

For the days of lunch missed we will be making an adjustment to the cost of lunches – our apologies for the loss of the 4 days while school has been closed

A NOTE FROM SCHOOL NURSE

It is everyone’s responsibility to help break the chain of transmission of Covid-19. Do not send your child to school if he/she feels unwell and demonstrates symptoms of Covid-19. Please help keep the Logos community safe so learning can continue.

The Khan are asking us to provide information about students who have received their third booster shot of the Covid Vaccine.  If you have not informed the school if your child(ren) has(have) received this booster shot, then please let the school nurse have the details as soon as possible.

BUILDING PROGRESS

Still putting in the walls … roofing should start at the end of February.  Plenty of progress
