APPOINT NEW ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL:
As some of you may know Ms. Giulietta Welman will be leaving Logos at the end of this school year as she completes her contract with us as Elementary Principal. Ms. Welman has made a great contribution to the development of Early Years and Elementary supporting teaching and learning in her department.
Smooth transition is important at this time and the School Leadership Team is pleased to announce that a new Elementary Principal has been appointed: Mrs. Ashley Phifer. Ashley has been with Logos for almost 9 years, serving faithfully as a teacher and a teacher leader. Ashley will take up the new role in July ready for the start of the new school year.
The Leadership Team is excited to have her join the team! Please pray during this season for a smooth transition period.

A NOTE FROM SCHOOL NURSE
As the sun’s rays become more intense for the next several months, it is important to understand how to protect your skin from UV damage. Sun protection factor (SPF) is an important measure of a sunscreen’s ability to block out ultraviolet radiation that can cause sunburn and other forms of skin damage.
When shopping for sunscreen, look for products with at least an SPF rating of 30 or higher—the higher the number, the better protection you will have from UVA/UVB rays. When using sunscreen properly, it can help prevent premature aging caused by prolonged exposure as well as reduce your risk of developing certain types of cancer like melanoma down the line. Avoid spending extended periods in direct sunlight during peak hours (10 am-4 pm) when possible; wearing protective clothing such as hats or long sleeves also helps minimize direct contact with damaging UV light.
Parents are highly encouraged to apply sunscreen for students before coming to school, especially on days where they have PE or swimming classes. Additionally, students are recommended to wear hats when playing in the sun.
