Flourishing Faith Initiative – A reminder

Logos has been asked by ACSI to take part in a pilot study they are running: The Flourishing Faith Initiative. We have agreed to be a part of this as we would like to know if it can support our understanding of spiritual formation within the school.

Your part:
We are asking you to complete this survey by 9th December.  It will require about 20 minutes of your time.  In general, your first impression is the most accurate, so there’s no need to over-analyze individual questions. Your response will not be tracked to you personally.

Your participation is voluntary but we hope that you will be able to find the time to complete the survey by 9th December and support this new initiative with ACSI. The results over time may be helpful to us as a school in supporting spiritual formation for students.

ELEMENTARY:

Save the dates:
Friday, December 9th – Principal/Parent Meeting
Information coming soon!

Thursday, December 15th – Early Years & Elementary Christmas Fine Arts Festival

A NOTE FROM SCHOOL NURSE

In the morning, students often report skipping breakfast due to various reasons such as, “too early to eat”, “woke up late”, “did not have enough time”, “was not hungry”, and “don’t know what to eat”. As the day progresses, many have reported feeling weak, dizzy, or exhausted. Breakfast is an essential part of the day as it breaks the cycle of hours and hours of fasting while a person sleeps. The body does not stop working even during sleep, and calories need to be replenished in the morning.

A healthy breakfast boosts a person’s metabolism and energy, which helps with physical activities throughout the day. Students who consume breakfast on a daily basis are more able to focus in class and have less cravings for junk food. Different cultures have different preferences for breakfast; however, a healthy and filling breakfast consists of an appropriate amount of protein, carbohydrates, and fruits/vegetables. If students feel they do not have enough time to eat at home, they should pack breakfast for school and eat when they can.
