NEW OPERATIONS MANAGER
It is my pleasure to announce the appointment of a new Operations Manager at Logos! His name is Stephen van Jaarsveld and he is from South Africa. He is married to Elna who will teach IGCSE Art and Secondary Drama at AHIS and Digital Design and Drama at Logos.
Elna has taught at Logos previously, before she was married – Elna Peters. Stephen and Elna have 2 children who will be coming to school at Logos.
The family is arriving early – we hope this week. So please pray for their travels and that they settle in well. Stephen will have time to work with Andy Gordon in May and through June as well.
I am sure you will make them very welcome

FOR THE NEW ACADEMIC YEAR (2022-2023)
School calendar with term dates
COVID SoP (Standard Operating Procedures)
As a school we have not yet received permission to change any of our Standard Operating Procedures – these remain in place as they were communicated through to you at the beginning of the year. The only changes that the MoEYS have permitted so far was the cooking and serving of lunch to students and allowing non-contact sports.
Parents are reminded that their visits to the school campus should not exceed 15 minutes and only one parent is allowed on campus to pick up and drop off children. Please do NOT wait around on the school campus and allow your children to play, but head home as soon as you have your children. Mask wearing is still required throughout the school.

LOGOS GRADUATION
REMINDER ABOUT TRAFFIC FLOW
We know how busy the road outside school gets – especially from 3:00 to 3:20pm.
We have one of our Logos employees there to try to help direct traffic and parking, please follow his requests.
We find that it eases the situation if everyone can approach from the NORTH with the school on their right-hand side (ie. come in from Mong Reththy – Street 1928) and then depart from the school to the SOUTH (out past TPO or towards Street 1986)
REMINDER ABOUT HELMETS
It is the law in Cambodia that both driver and any passengers wear a suitable “crash helmet” when riding on a motorcycle. Students who come to school either driving their own bike, or as a passenger, who are NOT wearing a helmet will be asked to return to get one!
MENU FOR MAY
A NOTE FROM SCHOOL NURSE
May is mental health awareness month. Mental health is often neglected due to the high demands of daily life. When we suffer physical injuries, such as a broken bone, we immediately seek medical care. Many times, we choose to suffer in silence when we are hurt emotionally. Social stigma plays a major role in preventing people from seeking help. Socially, mental health issues can be viewed as a sign of weakness or perceived as not as important as physical health. Unprocessed emotions and hurt often express themselves through anxious behaviors, anger outbursts, or other negative behaviors. Remember, “emotional pain is not something that should be hidden away and never spoken about. There is truth in your pain, there is growth in your pain, but only if it’s first brought into the open” (Steven Aitchison). Seeking help is a sign of strength, not a weakness.
BUILDING PROGRESS
Lot’s of smoothing of walls happening as we prepare for painting. Roofing is all complete except for the downspouts. Preparing to break through on the second and third floors in the coming days.
