THE SCHOOL OFFICE CLOSED

The office staff will be taking a well-earned break over the Christmas and New Year period.

Please do not expect phone calls to be answered between 24th December and 9th January.  If you need urgent attention, please contact one of the school leaders.

SCHOOL LUNCH

We have been given permission to re-start the school lunch service.  We plan on starting to make school lunch, for those who want it, from the start of next term (Monday 10th January 2022).  To help us get the right numbers we’d be most grateful if you could indicate your interest in using this service or not.

A monthly fee is usually charged (KG = $35/$2, Grade 1-5 = $45/$2.50. Grades 6-12 = $50/$3)

If we are required to operate the alternating day (A/B) schedule for the Secondary students then we shall pro-rate the charges for the days they are at school.

You should be sent an email with a link to the lunch survey, or you can access it here if that is easier.

SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT

Parents should know that we have a CONTINUOUS SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLAN (CSIP) for looking at how to develop and improve things at Logos.  Parents are always welcome to view this plan and we invite comments to be forwarded to any member of the school leadership.

LPA ANNOUNCEMENT

Monday, 20th December, is the day we will bless our Logos faculty and staff with a special Christmas celebration! This is a wonderful way to express our appreciation for the teachers and staff who work so diligently to serve our children and families throughout the year.

Please remember to drop off food items anytime between 8am-3pm. You may drop off the items at the gate or if you prefer to enter the school property, you will need to show your vaccination card and parent ID card (or sign in). Please ensure each item is individually wrapped.

An email with additional information was sent last Friday. If you did not receive it, please contact the office or the LPA leadership team.

God Bless!

HATS

LOGOS  “Baseball Caps” are still available for sale in the office.  The cost is just $3.

A NOTE FROM SCHOOL NURSE

Have a sore throat, runny nose, or a cough? These symptoms are normally caused by a virus, not bacteria. The use of antibiotics is not necessary as antibiotics can only kill bacteria, not a virus. Inappropriate use of antibiotics leads to multidrug resistance in bacteria. Bacterial infections that were once easily treated with a type of antibiotic, will later require an even stronger antibiotic due to resistance.

Instead of antibiotics, what you can do is to drink plenty of fluids, have adequate sleep, be active, and eat nutritious meals. Most people are experiencing a sore throat, runny nose, or a cough during this season. It’s important to maintain appropriate social distancing, wear a mask, and wash your hands.
