Cyber-bullying
Unfortunately, there have been several recent incidents of cyberbullying in our middle school and high school. While these incidents occurred off campus via social media sites such as Instagram and Google Hangouts, they have negatively impacted relationships at school. We want to make parents aware that this has become an issue in our community and encourage parents to have conversations with their teens about appropriate digital use and the importance of treating others with kindness. Common Sense Media and several other online sites have information and tools to help parents address and deal with online safety for their teens.

If parents or students have concerns about bullying or inappropriate digital messages, please encourage them to talk to a trusted teacher or Mrs. Young (jyoung@asianhope.org). We appreciate parent involvement as we tackle this issue and keep Logos an encouraging and safe environment for students.

The National Institute on Drug Abuse and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism will observe National Drug & Alcohol Facts Week® (NDAFW) January 22-27, 2019. Click on the link to begin increasing your understand of Youth Drug and Alcohol Abuse. The site is easy to use with great interactive videos for our students and parents. The more educated we as parents and adults are the better we will be able to assist our children in understanding the danger of trying drugs or using alcohol. I would much rather have my child come ask me question about drugs than to ask a friend who might give them the wrong advise or worse yet, minimize the danger of drug and alcohol. Teen Drug Awareness
