Jog-A-Thon Update: Playground and Artificial Turf

Dear Logos Community,

Well, we are now up and going for our 4th annual Jog-A-Thon.  As we mentioned in our last email, one of the main reasons we do the Jog-A-Thon is to help keep tuition costs low by paying for various facility developments through Jog-A-Thon donations.  The donations that are raised by students at Logos are combined with other donors that support Logos, and over the past few years, we have been able to add some amazing facilities to Logos from these funds, a computer lab, a fantastic gym, etc.  This year we are focusing on the playground, however, we have some donors in North America willing to give us some funds towards putting in ARTIFICIAL TURF on our field.  So, we are going to be raising money towards both of these improvements.  Why artificial turf? Well, having a small field means we have to closely monitor the use of that area to ensure that it is well maintained.  During the rainy season, we have to close it off quite regularly to ensure that it does not get overused when it is wet.  With artificial turf, we could keep it open year round and not worry about the amount of use in the same way we have to with real grass.  It could be open for other groups as well, as we would not have to be nearly as concerned about the amount of time people were using the field.  This would open up a variety of ministry possibilities.  This is not a cheap project, but we have some donors that are willing to help us with it, so we decided to included it with our Jog-A-Thon.  If we were to do both of these projects in our regular budget, they would cost over $75,000.  However, with the donors we have in place, combined with Jog-A-Thon money, we can keep this out of our budget and save you money on tuition.   Therefore, help us keep tuition low by supporting the 4th annual Jog-A-Thon.  If you have any questions about how you can help further, please contact our school office.  We would love to hear from you.

$1,327 Raised for Flood Victims by Logos Community

I would like to extend my thanks to all of you that participated in donating funds to the victims of the recent flooding that has taken place throughout the region.  The Logos community raised $1,327 for this cause.  If you would like to still support this effort, please give your donations into the office, and they will pass them onto Shalom Church which is purchasing much needed supplies for these people.  Again, thank you so much for sharing with those in need.

College and Career Planning Seminar PARENT MEETING this Wed. at 6pm

In conjunction with the upcoming College and Career Planning seminar, Logos International School is pleased to announce that Dr. John Schwaiger will conduct a session for parents: Debtless Degree Workshop – 4 Key Principles – Elizabeth’s Story.  This workshop will cover prerequisites, prayer, planning and preparation which are foundational to effectively preparing your teen for a debtless degree.  This session will take place on Wednesday, October 26, from 6:00pm-8:00pm, and will be very helpful for all parents, regardless of your nationality.  There is no charge for this session, but a donation is suggested in order to help cover Dr. Schwaiger’s costs.  During this session, Dr. Schwager will take time to respond to questions from parents.  I highly recommend that you attend this workshop, even if your child is only in middle school or grade 9!
