Wednesday Update Jan 13th- Logos Grand Opening

Logos grand opening January 9th, 2010

Dear Logos Family,

For those of you who had an opportunity to participate in the Logos Grand Opening, thank-you very much for coming. It was a terrific day and it was a memorable day to be a part of. We continue to pray that the Lord will bless this place and that He will always be honored in our halls.

There are many people to thank for such a wonderful event and although there were many public thank-you at the ceremony, there are many people behind the scenes who should be recognized. Mr. Dan Hein and I received many thank-yous and congratulations for the wonderful ceremony, but the true thanks must go to Mrs. Elina for putting together and organizing the whole event. She and her staff did a wonderful job of taking care of all the details. Many thanks should also go to Anna Pedrosa and the Asian Hope Girls House for baking all the cookies (2400 to be exact but who’s counting). And many thank-yous to all the high school scholarship students for helping out in supporting the event in a variety of ways. It was said at the ceremony, but once again a special thank-you to Mr. Steve Walkup, the Chairman of the Asian Hope Board out of Denver Colorado, for flying in and taking part and speaking at this event.

Lets move forward a couple of days. Now as we start to live and use this building as a functioning school. We appreciate that many of you have concerns about the flow of traffic and the current drop-off and pick-up system of students at the beginning and end of the day. We share your concern and we are actively trying to find out how long it will take to get the road repaired in front of the school. We are also looking at the possibility of perhaps a one way flow of traffic solution to and from the school in the near future. We are also improving our outdoor sound system to be more clear for students and teachers to be able to hear names that are being announced during the pick-up time. We ask for your continued patience during this time.

And now, the always Grand and flowing, Wednesday Update.

Grade 4 Help

Parents and friends, are there any amateur astronomers out there who would have the time and equipment necessary to help show our 4th Grade students a clearer look at the night sky? We are currently doing a unit on Space, and I would like to do a “Space Evening” if possible, but this is not an area of the curriculum that I have a deep personal knowledge of, and so I’m looking for help from more knowledgeable colleagues or parents (or even high school students). If you are willing and able to assist with such an evening, please contact me (the 4th grade teacher) at kkimber@logoscambodia.org.
