Wednesday Update: February 3, 2010

Wednesday UpdateDear Logos Community,

You may have noticed that the number of students taking vans has doubled now that we have moved to the new campus.  We have subcontracted out some of our van service to a van company, and continue to provide service with our three vans.  However, because of these changes, we have had to make some changes to the fee structure for the van service.  We now have two zones for pick up and drop off, and the fees are based on these zones.  For round-trip service in the Toul Kork zone, the fee is $45, and one way service in the Toul Kork zone is $25.  For round-trip pick up and drop off outside of the Toul Kork zone, the fee is $55, and one way service is $30.  We are able to continue to give the same discounts to those families that have multiple children being picked up or dropped off at the same home.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.

And now the round-trip and efficient Wednesday Update.

Pie in the Face!

High schoolers and middle schoolers, remember all the times you were loaded down with homework, had to sit through boring lectures, were forced to tuck your shirt in, or do pushups, and bombed those extremely difficult tests that your teachers gave you? Now is your chance for vengeance! On Thursday (Feb 4th) during chapel, you will have the opportunity to get back at your teachers for all of the mental and emotional pain they have caused you. The senior class will be hosting a “Pie In the Face” event where you and your friends will be able to bid to throw a pie in the face of a teacher. The winning chance will go to the highest bidder (or bidding group), so bring your money and get ready to bid against your classmates. The teachers up for humiliation are: Mr Dedert, Mr Roberts, Ms Roberts, Ms Scholz, Ms Harris, Mr Weiss, and Solomon. All proceeds will go towards the senior trip.

Valentine’s Day 2010

Have you started thinking about that special someone? It’s that time of year again where love is in the air. Valentine’s Day is on February 14 where love is the main subject. We want to do something to show our love to each other in High School and Middle School. Next week, Tuesday through Friday, that is February 2-5, the ninth grade class will be selling numerous things in the lunchroom so that the High School and Middle School may be able to join in this lovely holiday. We will be selling

• Chocolate kisses
• Valentine’s cards (specially made by the ninth grade class)
• Send a song to that special someone
• Send that person a painted kiss on their cheek

The painted kiss will cost 500 riel and the chocolate, cards, and songs will cost 1000 riel each. This money is going towards the banquet, so it’s for your own good to be apart of these activities. So, get on your happy, lovely faces and be ready for Valentine’s Day 2010.
